Gear Reforging: Keep or Reroll?

Match reforge stats to a hero's role, faction and troop type, then set a sensible stopping point for your hammers.

Keep a reforge result when it improves the job the equipped hero actually performs. Rarity and Power are useful information, but neither tells you whether a bonus fits your formation. Decide what the hero needs before spending more hammers.

Reforging changes Special Stats unlocked through gear star progression. The official stat guide identifies these options:

Verified reforge stat families
Available onStat options
Any slotDamage Bonus, Damage Reduction Bonus, Healing Bonus, and damage or damage-reduction bonuses for Auto Attacks and Active Skills.
HelmetAttack bonuses; Crit Bonus.
ArmorDefense bonuses; reduced Active Skill cooldown.
GreavesHealth bonuses; increased combat stats for allied heroes.

Attack, Defense and Health rolls include general, faction-specific and troop-specific variants. Check the full wording: a restricted bonus requires the matching faction or troop type. The in-game Stat Pool lists the choices for the selected slot.

Choose for the fight you are losing

Practical keep-or-reroll criteria
Current problemA useful resultWhen to reconsider
Your tank falls before the team can actDamage reduction or a relevant defensive roll. The tank survives comfortably and another hero is now the weak point.
Your damage dealer survives but cannot finish targetsA relevant offensive roll that supports how the hero deals damage.Repeated early deaths prevent the hero from using that damage.
Your healer dies before helping the teamA useful survival roll. The healer stays alive but healing output remains inadequate.
Your healer survives but cannot sustain the teamHealing Bonus, if the hero provides healing. The next opponent exposes a survival problem again.

A serviceable roll can be worth keeping while you improve weaker equipment elsewhere. Avoid discarding every defensive result on a damage dealer or every offensive result on a support without considering the actual fight.

Set a hammer budget before rerolling

FunPlus's probability disclosure lists a cost of 1 Reforge Hammer for Basic Reforge and 25 for Advanced Reforge. It also states that reforge counts accumulate across all gear and affect the chance of higher-tier results. A higher chance does not guarantee the particular stat you need.

  1. Choose one piece on a hero you regularly deploy and name the improvement you want.
  2. Check that the desired stat exists in that slot's pool and that any faction or troop restriction matches.
  3. Set a spending limit and an acceptable result before starting. Stop when either is reached.
  4. Review the next weaker piece before spending again on a roll that already does its job.

For other upgrade budgets, use the Gear Scraps and Hero Skill Manuals references. Keep those plans separate from your reforge hammer budget.
